Privacy
This page covers the Benoni CPF Sector 2 website and the Android app that loads this portal (package za.co.benonicpfs2.patrol). It is written for patrollers and for Google Play review. It is not legal advice.
What we collect
- Call sign, display name, and a hashed PIN
- Optional phone number, email, and vehicle details
- Bookings, patrol sessions, incidents, SOS, and precise location only while a patrol is active
- Incident or debrief photos you choose to attach
- Device push tokens for operational alerts, and login / terms-acceptance logs
We do not sell personal information. We do not use advertising SDKs. Radio audio is live and is not stored on this server.
Account deletion
You can request that your account be closed. An admin writes an encrypted backup, verifies it, then anonymises the account: name, phone, email, vehicle records, PIN, and push tokens are scrubbed. The call sign, login IP and browser details, audit rows, the request note, patrol history, and OB records stay. We never hard-delete operational history as part of this flow.
The encrypted backup is kept for 12 months from approval and then destroyed; anonymised patrol history and OB records are kept for audit.
Request deletion from the patroller Profile tab (signed in, confirm with your PIN) or use the public form:

Location while on patrol
How the patrol portal handles location is set out in the Patroller Terms of Use & Location Policy (version 2026-07-24), reproduced below.
By signing in you agree to use this portal responsibly. Location sharing applies only while you are on an active patrol.
- Your GPS location is collected only after you tap Commence Patrol and stops when you Stand Down.
- Location updates are sent about every 60 seconds (or sooner when you move) while on patrol so coordinators can see your route and assist in emergencies.
- Keep Patrol Mode open on screen during your shift — in a browser, GPS stops when you switch apps.
- Install the CPF Patrol Android app for background GPS while using your radio (recommended). Set Location to All the time and Battery to Unrestricted.
- For normal patrols, enter your starting odometer when you commence and ending odometer when you stand down — kilometres are calculated from the difference. Emergency response patrols use a manual km estimate.
- Admins and authorised approvers may view your live position on the patrol map during active sessions only.
- An SOS alert shares your location with CPF coordinators and may trigger WhatsApp notifications to the ops list.
- Location history (breadcrumb trail) is retained for safety review and is not shared publicly.
- For life-threatening emergencies, always call 10111 (SAPS) or 10177 (EMS) first.
- Misuse of the portal or false SOS alerts may result in account suspension.
